Double Circle Ranch is a haven for birds and bird watchers

Double Circle Ranch is a haven for birds and bird watchers

April 29 – May 3, 2010

A 2007 bird survey identified 137 bird species on the ranch, many of which are southeastern Arizona specialty birds such as Mexican Jay, Vermillion Flycatcher, Painted Redstart, and Elf Owl. We have exceptional opportunities to see and hear Arizona specialty species here at the ranch, and we look forward to sharing this unique bird watching weekend with you!

Click here to check out the complete list of 137 bird species confirmed here on the ranch. No list like this is ever really complete…come for a birdwatching visit of your own, and see if you can see or hear a species that we’ve missed!

We’ll begin Thursday evening with orientation and dinner. Friday, Saturday, and Sunday we’ll spend our early mornings and late afternoons out in the field, watching and identifying the 137 species of birds that have been documented here on the ranch. We’ll return to base camp during the heat of the day for more classroom training. Sightseeing drives will also be available during the mid-day heat. Then in the evening, we’ll head back out to the field for evening songs and identification. Monday we’ll be back in the field until lunch, and our guests will depart after lunch.
