The Double Circle Ranch maintains a herd of several hundred Texas Longhorn steers
Once one of the largest, roughest ranches in the old West, the Double Circle Ranch was famous for outlaws, renegades (both red and white), attacks by Geronimo, and cattle drives of up to 30,000 head of wild cattle. Tucked away in southeastern Arizona, high in the Gila Mountains and well inside the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest, the ranch was wild, rugged, and home to some truly colorful characters.
Today the ranch includes 37,000 acres of land and is famous for eco-tourism and sustainable ranching, rather than outlaws and bloodshed. The ranch has become a destination vacation, training, and teambuilding site. We are a down-to-earth, remote, old west, rustic dude ranch with limited basic, but modern facilities.
We maintain a herd of roughly 200 Texas Longhorn steers and will be adding another several hundred head shortly. We also have a string of sane and experienced ranch horses available for guests to ride when they come out to work the cattle with us.
The Double Circle Ranch offers exceptional and unlimited horse riding opportunities…see the ranch as it should be seen: from the back of a horse that knows the area and the terrain!
